, BOOK iii PAGE 54 <br />Mr. Hayes advised that they wanted to help the community and to move forward and <br />not just bury people. <br />Commissioner Adams stated she heard a "want" and a "we can" but what was really <br />needed was a plan. She felt the County needed to surplus this property and that it should be <br />put back into private ownership. She recommended that the Board move forward to surplus <br />the property and allow the Gifford Cemetery Association to bid for it along with everybody <br />else and then they can do what they want with it. <br />Mr. Hayes was of the opinion that this matter had been decided before this meeting <br />because it had been going on for a year and he had just been able to come before the Board. <br />He appreciated whatever the Board could do. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Stanbridge, the Board unanimously authorized <br />the demolition of the building, the declaration of the property as <br />surplus, and authorized the General Services Director to proceed <br />with accepting sealed bids for the purchase of the property. <br />11.G.1.
