Keller, CLA <br />Legal Assistant - County Attorney's Office <br />DATE: December 13, 1999 <br />RE: Recently Acquired Property - Tax Cancellation <br />The County recently acquired some property and, pursuant to Section 196.28, <br />Florida Statutes, the Board, after formally accepting the property, may cancel <br />and discharge any taxes owed on it as long as it was acquired for public purpose. <br />Such cancellation must be done by resolution of the Board, with a certified copy <br />being forwarded to the Tax Collector (along with copies sent to the Property <br />Appraiser and Fixed Assets). <br />Requested Action: Board authorize the Chairman to sign the attached <br />resolutions which cancel taxes upon the land that the County recently acquired. <br />Attachment: Resolution d Legal• <br />R/W - 7.0x' Avenue - Bradshaw Holdings <br />" - SW a Street <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Stanbridge, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution No. 99-13 8 canceling certain delinquent taxes upon <br />publicly owned lands, pursuant to Section 196.28, Florida <br />Statutes.
