C dler <br />County Administrator <br />The last classification and pay plan study was completed and implemented in <br />1988. As presented at the July Budget Workshop, there is a critical need for a <br />professional consultant to review and analyze the current plan and develop a <br />recommended new plan. <br />Attached is a Request for Proposals (RFP) for consultant services. Staff <br />recommends the Board authorize distribution and advertisement of the RFP to obtain <br />consultant proposals. After receipt of the proposals, they will be ranked by staff and a <br />recommendation submitted to the Board for authorization to negotiate an appropriate <br />contract. <br />County Administrator James Chandler advised that he was pleased and fortunate to <br />be able to appoint Joe Baird as the Assistant County Administrator because of his history <br />with the County. Mr. Baird is well-respected within this government's organization and by <br />the public. <br />Mr. Chandler then reviewed the item before them. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Grin, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously authorized <br />distribution and advertisement of the RFP to obtain consultant <br />proposals for the pay plan and position classification study, as <br />recommended in the memorandum. <br />December 21, 1999 <br />52 <br />0 10 <br />
