Commissioner Ginn asked Commissioner Adams to chair the committee, and <br />Commissioner Adams declined. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Tippin, SECONDED <br />BY Commissioner Ginn, to setup a committee with 20 members <br />plus a County Commissioner to serve. The committee's <br />members would choose their own chairman. <br />Commissioner Stanbridge pointed out that staff will have to be involved and a <br />Commissioner should be there to make sure staff is not abused. <br />Board. <br />For that reason, Commissioner Adams insisted there has to be a connection to the <br />Commissioner Tippin wanted that included in the motion. He suggested that the <br />Commission representative be Chairman Macht. <br />County Attorney Vitunac advised that if a Commissioner is on the committee, that the <br />Commissioner must be the chairman of the committee. <br />Chairman Macht reminded them that the staff will be Administrator Chandler's <br />employees. Also, there has been a space needs study already completed and a lot of time <br />was involved in that. He believed there would be no purpose in further efforts without the <br />involvement of Administrator Chandler and Assistant Administrator Baird. <br />MOTION WAS WITHDRAWN by Commissioner Tippin; <br />SECOND WAS V4MDRAWN by Commissioner Ginn. <br />Commissioner Ginn stated, if the Board wants her to chair the new committee, the <br />Board would have to wait until the Census 2000 Committee sunsets when she would have <br />more time.
