Miscellaneous Budget Amendment 004 <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of January 4, 2000: <br />TO: Members of the Board of County Commissioners <br />DATE: January 4, 2000 <br />SUBJECT: MISCELLANEOUS BUDGET AMENDMENT 004 <br />THROUGH: Joseph A. Baird <br />Assistant County ministrator <br />FROM: Jason E. Brown <br />Budget Manager <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The attached budget amendment is to appropriate funding for the following: <br />On October 12,1999, the Board of Commissioners approved an Article V Court Grant <br />for $29,790. The attached entry appropriates funding. <br />2. The Budget Office underestimated the sick incentive for Environmental Planning. The <br />attached entry appropriates funding from M.S.T.U. reserve for contingencies. <br />3. On September 7, 1999, the Board of Commissioners approved a Litter Control Grant <br />from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for $17,500. The attached <br />entry appropriates funding. <br />4. Indian River County entered a Joint Participation Agreement with the Florida <br />Department of Transportation on August 18, 1998 for preparation of an Interchange <br />Justification Report. The attached entry appropriates $70,000 in grant funding. <br />5. On December 21, 1999, the Board of Commissioners approved air quality <br />improvements at the Health Department building for $100,000. A contribution from <br />the Health Department for $40,000, plus $60,000 from General Fund contingencies <br />will provide funding. <br />6. On January 4, 2000, the Board of Commissioners approved paying costs associated <br />with tax deed applications on 23 parcels. The attached entry appropriates funding of <br />$5,715 from General Fund contingencies. <br />7. County Engineering needs a new computer network switch at a cost of $1,200. The <br />attached entry appropriates funds from Transportation contingencies. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the attached budget <br />amendment. <br />January 11, 2000 <br />15 <br />• <br />
