Keller, CLA <br />Legal Assistant - County Attorney's Office <br />RE: Recently Acquired Property - Tax Cancellation <br />The County recently acquired some property and, pursuant to 5ection 196.28, <br />Florida Statutes, the Board, after formally accepting the property, may cancel <br />and discharge any taxes owed on it as long as it was acquired for public purpose. <br />Such cancellation must be done by resolution of the Board, with a certified copy <br />being forwarded to the Tax Collector (along with copies sent to the Property <br />Appraiser and Fixed Assets). <br />Requested Action: Board authorize the Chairman to sign the attached <br />resolutions which cancel taxes upon the land that the County recently acquired. <br />Attachment: Ruoiation d Legal., <br />R/W - 47' Avenue - swezey <br />R/W - Oslo of 74* - Brodshow <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Stanbridge, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Tippin, the Board, <br />by a 4-0 vote (Vice Chairman Grin absent), <br />unanimously adopted Resolution 2000-005 <br />cancelling certain delinquent taxes upon publicly <br />owned lands, pursuant to Section 196.28, Florida <br />Statutes (Bradshaw Holdings - 741 Avenue Right -of- <br />- Way). <br />JANUARY 18, 2000 <br />-28- <br />• 0 <br />
