Administration Resident, Indian River Memorial Hospital <br />Dr. Sullivan called the meeting to order and stated the development of the group was to <br />share thoughts and create an atmosphere for positive exchange amoag all stakeholders in <br />the issue. <br />Process- After discussion. it was determined the task force will meet twice a month with <br />an eye on a July 1 ° deadline. It was noted this deadline was flexible. Everyone agreed they <br />could commit to the meetings. <br />Issues .Assessmcnt: The following items wer: identified: <br />1. Insurance companies pulling out of the state. <br />• Hard to find insurance for smal:. under age 50 groups. <br />• "Crisis- with t%,,o. maybe three providers. <br />• Other areas have more competition; companies come and go in our market. <br />• <br />Can we be mor.:ompetitive^ <br />• I.R. Co. Chamber has- about 1.200 members. est. of about 25.000-30,000 <br />employees in the Court. <br />We do have county issues, but this is not a problem in our county alone as Florida <br />is a state where companies don't want to do business. <br />FEBRUARY 8, 2000 <br />• <br />-47- <br />600� <br />
