I <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The additional work includes final project design and permitting <br />services. These services will take the County through the entire <br />permitting process for the four beach restoration projects. A <br />joint application will be submitted to the State and Federal <br />government agencies with all necessary drawings, documentation, and <br />design information. ATM will be responsible for responding to <br />comments from the agencies and preparing construction documents. <br />This work will take the County through the permitting process and <br />up to the construction phase. <br />These professional services are funded through a joint agreement <br />between the County and State of Florida. The agreement was <br />executed by the Board on October 12, 1999 whereby approving funding <br />to complete this phase of work based on a 50t County/50% State <br />contribution totaling $458,800. <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Approve Amendment No. 1 to complete final project design and <br />permitting services for the Beach Preservation Plan. <br />County Contribution $212,450 <br />State Contribution $212.450 <br />Total $424,900 <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Deny Amendment No. 1 and re -negotiate the services. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends Alternative No. 1 whereby Amendment No. 1 for <br />additional services with Applied Technology and Management, Inc. is <br />approved.
