BOOK <br />In order to have the sidewalk constructed to meet the County's needs, FDOT is willing to <br />enter into a Local Agency Project Agreement (LAP) in which Indian River County agrees <br />to construct the project and FDOT agrees to reimburse the County after completion of <br />construction. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends that the Board approve the attached Resolution and LAP Agreement <br />and authorize the Chairman to execute the same for construction of the Oslo Road <br />sidewalk. <br />Commissioner Ginn noted that she was aware of comments and complaints about the <br />recently constructed sidewalks in the area and wanted to make it clear that the County had <br />not constructed these sidewalks. <br />Public Works Director Jim Davis confirmed that the State Department of <br />Transportation has beenmanaging the ISTEA sidewalk projects and their contractor followed <br />the plans with the existing topography. The sidewalks seem to function well but there are <br />some changes in elevation. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Stanbridge, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Macht, the Board <br />unanimously approved the Local Agency Program <br />Agreement with Florida Department of <br />Transportation and authorized the Chairman to <br />execute same for construction of the Oslo Road <br />sidewalk and adopted Resolution 2000-021 <br />authorizing execution of a Local Agency Agreement <br />for the construction of Oslo Road sidewalk from <br />Lateral "ill Canal to 20" Street with the State of <br />Florida, Department of Transportation. <br />March 14, 2000 <br />-58- <br />
