Frame, Director, Department of General Services '%•kcf`_ <br />Subject: Cafe Patio Alteration <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Board had requested that staff prepare an estimate of costs to provide an external opening <br />from the County Cafe (Super Dip) to the outside to allow for a patio and an additional smoking <br />area for the public and employees. The proposed construction is as follows (see attached <br />Building & Grounds memo dated March 3): <br />1. 20' X 25' patio <br />2. A landing platform at door with ramp down to patio <br />3. Handrails <br />4. Minimal Landscaping <br />5. Three concrete tables with benches <br />The estimated costs shall not exceed $7,500 and would be funded from the General Fund <br />Contingency. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />If the Board is desirous of seeing the project done, then the Board needs to authorize the <br />proposed project to be funded from the General Fund Contingency and authorize the staff to <br />proceed with the project as outlined not to exceed $7,500.00. <br />APRIL 4, 2000 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Stanbridge, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Ginn, the Board <br />unanimously authorized the proposed project to be <br />funded from the General Fund Contingency m an <br />amount not -to -exceed $7500 and authorized staff to <br />proceed with the project as outlined, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />-26- <br />
