Stations No. 6 and No. 3 are first response <br />stations only. Adding a dual certified firefighter/paramedic would cost $54,298 at this time. <br />Commissioner Grin emphasized that Station No. 6 has the longest response time of <br />any station in the county. An ambulance has to be sent from another station. <br />Chairman Adams suggested the matter be referred to the District Advisory Committee <br />for their recommendations. <br />Commissioner Ginn believed this to be an emergency situation and stated that this was <br />a part of the plan for fiscal year 2000. She felt it should be addressed now and noted that she <br />wants a full complement on south beach. She believed if the County could have an ALS <br />station in Fellsmere and one in Sebastian, that south beach was certainly entitled to the same <br />service. <br />MAY 099 2000 <br />-I <br />
