FIND's objective for the analysis of Indian River County's waterways is to identify and quantify the <br />regional economic development impacts, including business activity, personal income, employment, <br />tax revenue, and property values generated within the county as a result of maintaining navigation <br />on the waterways within the District. The reductions or increases to the cun-ent economic impact <br />of the waterways under two waterway maintenance scenarios will also be quantified <br />The proposed interlocal agreement between FIND and Indian River County is attached to this staff <br />report Section I of the Agreement calls for Indian River County to contribute $15,000 to FIND for <br />the development of the economic analysis. FIND anticipates that the economic analysis will be <br />completed by March 31, 2001. During the development stage of the economic analysis, FIND will <br />provide quarterly status reports to the county, and upon completion of the analysis FIND will <br />provide the county with a final copy of the Economic Analysis of the Waterways of Indian River <br />County. <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners: <br />approve the proposed attached Interlocal Agreement between FIND and Indian River County <br />for the Economic Analysis of Indian River County's waterways; and <br />authorize the Board of County Commissioners' Chairman to execute the interlocal agreement <br />upon approval. <br />1.) Interlocal Agreement Between the Florida Inland Navigation District and Indian River <br />County For the Economic Analysis of Indian River County's waterways <br />MAY 239 2000 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Stanbridge, the Board <br />unanimously approved the Interlocal Agreement with <br />FIND for the Economic Analysis of Indian River <br />County's waterways and authorized the Chairman to <br />execute the agreement, as recommended by staff. <br />AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />BOOK <br />-19- <br />
