PROCLAMATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS <br />PROCLAMATION DESIGNATING WEEK OF JUNE 19-25, 2000 AS AMATEUR <br />RADIO WEEK <br />The Chairman presented the following Proclamation to Chris Meyers of the Amateur <br />Radio Club: <br />JUNE 139 2000 <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has more than 350 licensed Amateur Radio <br />operators who have demonstrated their value in public assistance by providing <br />emergency radio communications; and <br />WHEREAS, these Amateur Radio operators donate these services free of <br />charge in the interest of the citizens of the County as well as the world, <br />WHEREAS, the Amateur Radio operators are on alert for any emergency, local <br />or worldwide, and practice their communication stalls during the American Radio <br />Relay League's Field Day exercise; and <br />WHEREAS, this year the Amateur Radio Field Day will take place on June 24- <br />25,2000: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAINM by the Indian River County Board <br />of County Commissioners that the week of June 19 - 25, 2000 be designated as <br />AMATEUR RADIO WEEK <br />in recognition of this important preparedness exercise, and call upon all citizens to pay <br />appropriate tribute to the Amateur Radio operators of our County. <br />Dated this 13th day of June, 2000. <br />-3-, <br />BOOK FACE <br />
