ANALYSIS <br />There are 12 platted residential lots, which may benefit from this proposed water line on 28th Court <br />SW. The 10 owner's signatures, on the petition represent 83 % of the 12 lots supporting this <br />project. The 2 lots abutting 5" ST. SW were provided service in the Phase I Water Project, which <br />was completed 1-12-93 and are not included. (see attached Exhibit 3 - Schedule): Of the 17 <br />subdivisions along 5'b Street SW, between 27' and 43'd avenues, the installation of County water <br />service in Westwood Subdivision will leave just one subdivision without County water! <br />28`' Court in Westwood Subdivision is a private street, with a provision in the certificate of plat <br />dedication requiring a formal acceptance of the streets and/or easements, or any part thereof, by the <br />County. Staff will prepare for execution a resolution of acceptance of the streets and/or easements, <br />" for utility purposes only", on the consent agenda, prior to the public hearing and presentation of <br />Resolution III, for this project. <br />The properties are typically 0.53 of an acre. The attached map (F—YMIT-1) displays the area to <br />benefit from the assessment project. <br />This project is to be paid through the assessment of property owners along the proposed water line <br />route. Funding will be from the assessment fund No. 473. Design services will be provided by the <br />Department of Utility Services. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends approval of the above -listed project, <br />and requests authorization for the Department to proceed with the design engineering work and <br />award a contract for survey services based on the most favorable quote, in preparation for the <br />special assessment project. <br />JUNE 139 2000 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously <br />approved the project and authorized staff to proceed <br />with the design engineering work and award a <br />contract for survey services based on the most <br />favorable quote, in preparation for the special <br />assessment project, as recommended by staff. <br />-41- BOOK _ J PAGE IJ <br />
