(CLERK'S NOTE: At approximately 9:55 a.m., during the <br />discussion of this item, Chairman Adams left the meeting in <br />order to travel to a county -related appointment.) <br />Director Keating responded to Commissioner Stanbridge's questions concerning <br />frontage on County Roads 512 and 510. <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to be heard in <br />this matter. There being none, she closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioner Macht advised that he did not plan to support the request. He credited <br />the author of Attachment 6 in the backup for a very compelling argument against approval. <br />He also feared setting a precedent. He had been told that signs had already been placed on <br />the property which indicated that the requested/new zoning had already been established. <br />Finally, there is a corridor plan pending which involves two municipalities and the County; <br />he wanted to see the matter deferred until the corridor plan has become effective. <br />Dan Bryant, owner of Paradise Partners, asked to be recognized and, with the <br />concurrence of the Commissioners, Chairman Adams reopened the public hearing to allow <br />Mr. Bryant to address the Board. <br />Mr. Bryant recounted that when he bought the property his banker had advised him <br />that it was configured wrong and that he needed to meet with County staff to discuss the <br />matter. He was told that Indian River County had made this type of change so the precedent <br />had already been established. In fact, at a Planning & Zoning Commission meeting, he <br />recalled that Mr. Keating explained that such a change had been made for another applicant; <br />he believed it was the Kennedy property.
