RESOLUTION 2000-071 AUTHORIZING MASTER STREET LIGHTING <br />AGREEMENT WITH FLORIDA POWER & LIGHT (FPL) AND <br />A UTHORIZING COUNTYADMINISTRATOR OR PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR <br />TO SIGN <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of June 26, 2000: <br />TO: The Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: ul(, William G. Collins II — Deputy County Attorney <br />DATE: June 26, 2000 <br />SUBJECT: Master Street Lighting Agreement with FPL <br />Indian River County has a Master Street Lighting Agreement with Florida Power <br />& Light entitled "Conservation Lighting Conversion Agreement" dated November <br />18, 1981 which incorporates an earlier agreement dated January 6, 1965. <br />Under this agreement, FPL provides service and equipment to the County for <br />street lights on arterial roads as well as within various subdivisions. The County, <br />in tum bills the homeowner associations on an annual basis for FPL's service <br />and equipment. The form that has been used in the past to inform FPL of an <br />addition, modification or deletion to service has changed. The current form filed <br />with the Public Service Commission by FPL is attached for approval. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve the current form of Street Lighting Agreement to be used for <br />future additions, modifications or deletions to service with FPL. <br />2. Adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the County Administrator or the <br />Public Works Director as his designee to execute Street Lighting <br />Agreements to add, modify or delete service from the FPL Master Street <br />Lighting Agreement. <br />JULY 11, 2000 <br />-40- <br />BK 114 PG 056 <br />
