7,P. COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS (CONTIyuum OF CARE) - TO BE <br />KNOWNAS "INDIANRIVER HOMELESS SERVICES COUNCIL. INC -"- <br />FEDERAL EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT APPLICATION <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of June 30, 2000: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners June 30, 2000 <br />FROM: William G. Collins II, Deputy County Attorney <br />RE: Federal Emergency Shelter Grant Application by Coalition <br />For the Homeless of Indian River County, Inc. <br />The Coalition for the Homeless of Indian River County, Inc. is making an application for <br />$250,000 federal emergency shelter grant. (The outline of the proposal is attached.) <br />The grant rules require that the local governing body sign an approval of the project <br />(Appendix 1 attached). As stated in the proposal, there is no County involvement in <br />administrative oversight and no financial obligation other than signing the attached <br />Certification. <br />Recommendation: Authorize the Chairman to sign Appendix 1 "Certification of Local <br />Government Approval for Nonprofit Organization" on behalf of the County. <br />Commissioner Ginn was happy to recommend that the Board approve the application. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously <br />authorized the Chairman to sign Appendix 1 <br />"Certification of Local Government Approval for <br />Nonprofit Organization" on behalf of the County, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />COPY OF CERTIFICATION IS ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />JULY 119 2000 <br />� 6K 114 PG 060 <br />
