• <br />Vice Chairman Ginn felt Indian River County had to be very careful or the SR 60 corridor will <br />look like the 192 corridor in Melbourne. She was opposed to weakening the window sign ordinance <br />and would not support the proposed amendment. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED THE QUESTION and the motion <br />carried 4-1 (Vice Chairman Ginn opposed). (Ordinance No. 2000- <br />025 adopted amending the Land Development Regulations (LDRS) <br />Chapter 911, Zoning, as set out in the amendment.) <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2000- 0 2 5 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE <br />FOLLOWING CHAPTER OF THE LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS <br />(LDRS): CHAPTER 911, ZONING; AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF <br />CONFLICTING PROVISIONS, CODIFICATION, SEVERABILITY AND <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY LAND DEVELOPMENT <br />REGULATIONS (LDRS) BE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. SR 60 Window Sign Regulations <br />SR 60 Corridor window sign regulations of LDR Chapter Section 911.19(10)(h)6, is <br />amended as follows: <br />6. Window signs. "Window signs" shall include permanently affixed window <br />Signs, temporary window signs, and any signs or displays located within three <br />(3) feet of the window, door, or storefront. Window signs shall not exceed <br />ten (10) percent of the window storefront area (windowpanes and framing) <br />per store or business, and in no case shall exceed 50 sq ft per store or <br />busnless. Street address numbers and lettering and flyers or posters related <br />to not for profit events and organizations, shall not count as window signage. <br />"Open".
