He predicted the U.S. Trust Building issue would go away after a while. The `B" version allows <br />flexibility and an opportunity to develop a smart house with some character rather than a "tower" <br />in the center of a lot. <br />It was determined that no one else wished to be heard and the Chairman closed the public <br />hearing. <br />Commissioner Stanbridge knew that the "mega -buildings" have caused a lot of concern. She <br />had no problem with the 35' height limitation, but understood the styling that the architects wanted. <br />She was not sure that we would want to live with that, she felt that after a number of years it would <br />clutter our skyline. <br />Vice Chairman Ginn thought there was a need for an absolute height limitation. <br />Director Boling reviewed the PZC and the PSAC recommendations and spoke concerning <br />vaulted ceilings. He reviewed the recommendation and indicated the sketch representing that <br />recommendation. He also addressed questions concerning parapet walls. He gave assurance that the <br />"mega -buildings" heights would also be covered by this ordinance. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously approved staffs <br />recommendation.
