DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The attached budget amendment is to appropriate funding for the following: <br />1. On August 1, 2000, the Board of Commissioners approved purchasing equipment to <br />provide Emergency FM Radio Protective Action Broadcasts. The attached entry <br />appropriates funding from Optional Sales Tax reserve for contingencies. <br />2. On August S, 2000, the Board of Commissioners approved amending the Sheriffs <br />budget for out -of -county inmate revenue collected for April 2000. The attached entry <br />appropriates funding. <br />3. Funding forthe Gun Range has been set aside for $200,000 from Optional Sales Tax. <br />The attached entry is necessary to transfer these funds to the Gun Range <br />Construction Fund. <br />4. The Recreation Department has experienced higher than expected enrollment in the <br />various summer camp programs. Therefore, revenues and expenses are exceeding <br />estimates. The attached entry appropriates the use of the additional funds. <br />5. The Florida Department of Labor has invoiced the Board of Commissioners for <br />unemployment compensation for several departments. The attached entry <br />appropriates funding. <br />6. The Utilities Department incurred additional expenses due to Hurricanes Floyd and <br />Irene last year. The attached entry appropriates funding from Utilities Cash Forward <br />revenues. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the attached budget <br />amendment. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Tippin absent) approved miscellaneous budget <br />amendment 018, as recommended in the memorandum. <br />August 15, 2000 <br />22 <br />Q11K I l k PG 557 <br />
