7. 0. Domestic Wastewater Residual Agreement - Brevard County <br />School Board <br />�t <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of August 4, 2000: <br />DATE: AUGUST 4, 2000 <br />TO: JAMES E. CHANDLER <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: DONALD R HUBBS,?.E.DIRECTOR OF UTRPREPARED STEVEN J. DOYLE, PAND STAFFED BY: CAPITAL PROJECTS <br />SUBJECT: DOMESTIC WASTEWATER RESIDUAL AGREEN 24T <br />BREVARD COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Brevard Countv School Board desires to utilize the Indian River County Residuals Management <br />Facility to dispose of residuals from their Wastewater Facilities. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The COUNTY operates and imintans a publicly owned Residuals Management Facility (Dewatering Facility), <br />Permit #FLA -010434-001, which is capable of treating its own residuals and accepting do== wastewater <br />residuals fmm outside sources. The facility has been given approval and is operating under Florida Department of <br />Enviromuental Pmaection (FDEP) permit in compliance with Florida Administrative Code (FAC), Chapter 62-640, <br />to properly treat and dispose of the residuals into a Class 1 Lined Landfill. <br />The Brevard County School Board shall maintain compliance with the permit conditions issued by the FDEP <br />and the specific conditions of the halian River County Departrrreat of Utility Services for acceptance of residuals to <br />the IRC Residuals Managemesa Facility. Upon arrival onsite for treatment of residuals from the CUSTOMER'S <br />plant, the COUNTY has the right to refirse treatment of said residuals, if it is demonstrated that the <br />chemical/physical properties of the transported material is not consistent for dewatering. <br />The CUSTOMER will provide all transportation of residuals, and will be charged the prevailing Utility <br />rates as shown on the Schedule of Water and Sewer Rates, Fees and Charges attached to the Agreement. <br />The staff of the Departmeat of Utility Services reconucends that the Board of County Conznissioners approve <br />the attached, Dmmstic Wastewater Residual Agremneat as presented, and authorize the Chairman to execarte the <br />same. <br />August 15, 2000 <br />31 <br />BK 114 PG 5 6 6 <br />
