MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED <br />BY Commissioner Stanbridge, to approve staff's <br />recommendation. <br />Under discussion, in response to Vice Chairman Grin's inquiry, Assistant <br />Administrator Baird explained that disclosure counsel on page 162 of the backup referred <br />to the next item. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED THE QUESTION and the motion , <br />carried unanimously (4-0, Commissioner Tippin absent). <br />(Approved Bryant, Miller & Olive as legal counsel and bond <br />counsel on the negotiations with the Dodger organization for <br />acquisition of the spring training facility and the back payment <br />for the time already spent.) <br />N.C. Baird, Assistant County Administrator <br />Several years ago Nabors, Giblin & Nickerson was one of the firms considered for bond <br />counsel. Staff would like to utilize this same firm as Disclosure Counsel on the Dodger Bond <br />Issue at a cost of $16,500. <br />Recommendation <br />Authorize staff to use Nabors, Giblin & Nickerson as Disclosure Counsel. <br />August 15, 2000 <br />74 <br />
