Commissioner Ginn questioned whether this is the onlyplanfromthe Treasure Coast, <br />and Ms. Calleson responded that it was. <br />Mr. Poole noted that the St. Lucie County Planner has already called and requested <br />a copy of the plan to use in drafting their county's plan. <br />Commissioner Stanbridge thanked the Bureau for their assistance in providing <br />additional law enforcement officers. <br />Tim Granse felt there were quite a few boating people and the Chamber of Commerce <br />who would be interested in this topic. He stated that he was at the opening of the beautiful <br />Round Island Park several weeks ago and counted numerous manatees, as well as close to <br />a hundred over by the power plant at the same time. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Stanbridge, the <br />Board unanimously approved the Manatee <br />Protection and Boating Safety Comprehensive <br />Management Plan, as amended ([1] deleting Policy <br />1.15; [2] inserting the Save the Manatee Club <br />requested technical changes; and [3] copying Policy <br />1.2(3)(b) to Policy 1.2(1) with the deletion of the <br />word "or" and the insertion of the word "and"), and <br />directed staff to transmit the plan, as a final <br />document, to the State for approval consideration, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />AUGUST 22, 2000 <br />-s7- <br />BK 1 14 PG 713 <br />
