TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />DATE: September 1, 2000 <br />SUBJECT: A enda Itemms #9A3 and #10A -D <br />FROM: James E Chane County A <br />With respect to the Los Angeles Dodgers agenda item, taking into account the amount <br />of backup transmitted to the Board and the time necessary to review the information prior to <br />September 5, the matter will be deleted from the agenda. After discussion with the Chairman, <br />a determination was made to have a Special Call Meeting, Thursday, September 7, 2000 at 10:00 <br />a.m. The Tourist Tax public hearing will also be deferred and continued to that date and time. <br />Appropriate public notice will be made. <br />Chairman Adams read the title for the agenda item into the record and called upon <br />Administrator Chandler. <br />Administrator Chandler recommended continuing the public hearing to Thursday, <br />September 7, 2000, at 10:00 a.m. He further recommended that items 10.A, 10.B., 10.C., <br />and 10.D. be continued to that same date and time. <br />Chairman Adams understood he was recommending that all of the items on the agenda <br />relating to the Dodger issue would be continued to a Special Meeting, on Thursday, <br />September 7"1, at 10 o'clock. Chairman Adams recognized County Attorney Bangel. <br />County Attorney Bangel recommended that the Chairman open the public hearing and <br />then continue it to the time certain. <br />Vice Chairman Ginn asked if consideration could be given to holding the meeting at <br />5:01 p.m. so the public would be more likely to attend. <br />Chairman Adams advised that arrangements have been made with everyone for it to <br />be held at 10:00 a.m., and Commissioner Tippin advised that there is an MPO Consensus <br />Building Workshop starting at 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. <br />September 5, 2000 <br />74 <br />BK I I 14 PG 8 0 8 <br />i • <br />
