Wright, Dir or <br />Emergency Services ` <br />DATE: August 30, 2000 <br />SUBJECT: Approval ofRenewal of 800 MHz Communications System Backbone Maintenance <br />Contract with Communications International, Inc. <br />On December 15, 1998, the Board of County Commissioners approved a contract in the amount of <br />8109,588.50 (512,176.50 per month) with Communications International, Inc., to provide <br />backbone/inf wtructure maintenance for the 800 MHz Communications System for a period of nine <br />months from January 1, 1999 to September 30, 1999. Based on the above numbers, the annualized <br />cost for the contract for the first year was $146,118.00. The contract provides for renewal or <br />extension of the contract in one year increments for a total of five years upon mutual consent of the <br />parties and a price adjustment based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI). <br />The second renewal for FY 1999/2000 was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on <br />August 16, 1999 with an annual contract decrease of $1,799.76 (5149.98 per month), for an <br />annualized total of $144,318.24. The FY 1999/2000 renewal period allowed for the addition of the <br />Spectracom GPS Netclock at $432.00 per year, a remote system manager terminal at $780.00 per <br />year, and the deletion of database management at $5,280.00 per year. <br />SEPTEMBER �9t 2000 <br />G Z <br />-50- <br />
