Collins If — Deputy County Attorney <br />DATE: October 5, 2000 <br />SUBJECT: Agreement Between the Board of County Commissioners, <br />the Indian River County Property Appraiser and Tax <br />Collector for the Uniform Method for the Levy, Collection and <br />Enforcement of Non Ad Valorem Assessments Within the <br />East Gifford Watershed Area Municipal Service Benefit Unit <br />The Board of County Commissioners has scheduled a public hearing for <br />November 7, 2000 to consider the adoption of an ordinance and resolution <br />providing for the creation of the East Gifford Watershed Area Municipal Service <br />Benefit Unit and for the collection of assessments from the benefited properties <br />pursuant to the uniform method for the levy, collection, and enforcement of non <br />ad valorem assessments set out in Florida Statute 197.3632. <br />A prerequisite to utilizing that statutory procedure for collecting non ad valorem <br />assessments is a written agreement with the Property Appraiser and Tax <br />Collector providing for reimbursement of necessary administrative costs incurred. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Authorize the Chairman to execute the attached written agreement with the <br />Property Appraiser and Tax Collector providing for reimbursement of necessary <br />administrative costs Incurred in the levy, collection and enforcement of non ad <br />valorem assessments. <br />October 17, 2000 <br />77 <br />• <br />
