Tabar, P <br />Coastal Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) <br />Project Agreement No. IR -00-31 <br />Jungle Trail Shoreline Stabilization <br />DATE: October 11, 2000 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />During the Board of County Commissioners regular meeting on March <br />21, 2000, the Board approved a grant application for the Florida <br />Inland Navigation District's (FIND) Waterways Assistance Program. <br />The application requested funds to complete shoreline stabilization <br />to approximately 900 feet of Jungle Trail. <br />The County Coastal Engineer made a presentation on June 24, 2000 to <br />the District Board for Phase I (Permitting & Design) of the <br />project. Subsequently, the District awarded the County funds for <br />Phase I. Attached is the project agreement, No. IR -00.31. A Phase <br />II construction application will be submitted during FY 2001/2002. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />County staff has reviewed the attached agreement and finds the <br />conditions acceptable. The first phase of the project must be <br />completed on or before September 1, 2002. The District will <br />provide matching funds in the amount of $13,000. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends approval of the attached agreement for $13,000 <br />(50%) County contribution, and $13,000 (50%) FIND contributions. <br />Funding to be from the Beach Restoration Fund. <br />OCTOBER 24, 2000 <br />-111- <br />• <br />'A <br />
