<br />The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were ex -
<br />amined and found correct, were approved,. and warrants ordered issued in settle.ment of
<br />same. Such bills and, accounts being on f ile in the office of the Clerk Circuit Court.
<br />The warrants so issued from the respective funds being listed completely in -the supple-
<br />mental minute book, as provided by law, reference to. such record and the list so
<br />recorded being made m port of those minutes.
<br />The County Depository filed its monthly report of receipts and disbursements,
<br />which having been check was found to be correct.
<br />There being no further business the Board then adjourned.

<br />The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at
<br />the
<br />Court House. in. Vero Beach, of 10:00
<br />o'clock A.- M. Tuesday,
<br />January 8th
<br />1935, with
<br />the;
<br />following members of the Board, who
<br />had been elected at the
<br />election of
<br />November
<br />6th 1934, present and=presenting their commissions: Frank 0. Vickers; R. E. U.dge;
<br />J .J.P.Ha.milton; E. P.. Poole and Edwin A. Helseth. Al so, p resent were Vim Frick, -Sheriff,
<br />Chas. A. Yitchell,'Atiorney for the Board and Miles War- en, Clerk.
<br />On motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, j. J. P. Hamilton, was elected
<br />Chairman of the'Boardn until its further. orders.
<br />The following persons were named for the position indicated, for the ensuing year,
<br />and at the salary stipulated:
<br />Chas. Mersey, Ro ad.Su.t. , $100.00 per month
<br />Alex Davis, Janitor, 325.00 per month
<br />Chas. A. Hitehell,- of the firm of Vocelle & Mitchell', was selected as County Attorney
<br />at a salary of $75.00' per month for any and all legal services whatsoever, with the
<br />understanding no expense charge will be incurred against the County unless it is nec-`
<br />e ssaxy to go beyond the limits of this Judicial Circuit on business for the County.
<br />Ormond Taylor, representing Sinclair Refining Co., appeared before the Board and'
<br />requested the account of the County for the year 1935. 'It was ordered that all pet-
<br />roleum product s`be' purchased from .Sinclair Refining Co.', during the ensuing year.
<br />malt-er Monroe Jr , appeared before the Board regarding his knee alleged to have
<br />been injured while incarcerated in the County Jail. The Board agreed that it disclaims
<br />any and all liability`, and no assistance can be given him in this connection.
<br />The ^lax' Collectot and=1eriff were called before the Board and they advised that
<br />no person or f irm has- obtained State and County license to sell intoxicating liquors.'
<br />The Board after carefully considering this recommended that the Sheriff notify every
<br />dealer of intoxicating liquors ten days will be given them to apply for a, license
<br />other'â–ºaise such dealers will be proceeded against in "the matter provided by law.
<br />It was moved, seconded and carried that S. IT. Smith and Otis M. Cobb pay at least
<br />,025.00 rent not- later, than the 10th of January, 1335 and failure be ousted from the
<br />space they now occupy, in the Court House and unle"ss the, rent is paid each month the
<br />.Attorney for the Board and the Sheriff is directed to disposses these tenants.
<br />As provided by lava, the Board proceeded to select from the registration books
<br />the named of persons to be drawn as jurors for the year 1935, and after selecting such
<br />names the Board placed their Certificate and affidavit to such list ,and ordered that
