INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Joseph A. Baird, County Administrator <br />THROUGH: Christopher R. Mora, P.E., Public Works Director <br />FROM: James D. Gray, Jr., Coastal Engineer <br />SUBJECT: <br />CONSENT <br />Renewal of Professional Coastal Engineering and Coastal Environmental <br />Services Agreement RFQ No. 2012050 <br />DATE: March 9, 2015 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On March 19, 2013 the Board of County Commissioners approved continuing services contracts <br />with CB&I Coastal Planning and Engineering f/k/a Coastal Planning and Engineering and The <br />Transit Group, Inc. D.B.A Ecological Associates, Inc. for continuing Coastal Engineering and <br />Coastal Environmental contacts with Indian River County. The contract was for two years with an <br />option to renew for one additional two-year term. The purpose of this agenda item is to request <br />Board approval to renew the contacts with CB&I Coastal Planning and Engineering and Ecological <br />Associates, Inc. for a two-year term. <br />County staff has negotiated standard fee schedules with each firm. The fee schedule(s) reflect <br />fair and competitive rates for comparable professional services and tasks. These fees will be the <br />basis for individual projects, work orders and purchase orders. Please note: the submitted fee <br />schedules for the two-year renewal period remain unchanged from the initial contract period. <br />FUNDING <br />Funds for the various beach projects are budgeted and available in the Beach Restoration Fund <br />whose revenue is derived from one half of the proceeds of the levy of the Local Option Tourist <br />Development Tax (3%). Among the accounts that will be used include but not limited to: Sector <br />3 Post Construction Monitoring, Acct # 12814472-033490-05054 and Other Professional Services, <br />Acct #12814472-033190-99007. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of the attached fee schedules and the two-year renewal of the <br />agreements between the County and 1) CB&I Coastal Planning & Engineering, Inc. and 2) <br />Ecological Associates, Inc. and requests the Board to authorize the Chairman to execute the <br />attached agreements. <br />F:\Public WorkAlamesG\Continuing Coastal Contracts\CB&I Renual\Coastal Engineering Professional Services Contract renual - BCC agenda <br />memo 3-17-15.docx <br />63 <br />
