1 <br />1 <br />11 <br />It was ordered that these amounts be re -distributed beck to the respective funds from <br />ch expended out of the Court House construction fund of the County. <br />X Comaissioner Fudge introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption, to -wits - <br />BE IT RE5OLV1w that the minimum wage scale to be paid to persons employed in the coa- <br />struetion of the Indian river County court House at Vero Beach Florida, shall be as foil., <br />oars, to -wits <br />TMM OR OCCUPATION. <br />Cement f ini shers......# 1.00 <br />Tile setters.......... 1.00 <br />Roofers ............... 1.00 <br />iron setters.......... .80 <br />Ref. steel setters.... .80 <br />'hock drivers.......... .40 <br />HOURLY WAGE RATE. <br />Helpers to conerete nisho... 40if <br />Helpeks to tile setters.., .:,_.. 40)e <br />Helpers to roofers............ 40jt <br />Helpers to iron setters....•.. 40jf <br />Helpers to Ref.steel setters.. 40je <br />Concrete hix.operators........ 50j' <br />BE IT HISOLVED that the foregoing wage scale be made a part of any contract for the eon. <br />struction of said Indian River County Court House and that all persons, firms or corpora- <br />tions engaged in the construction of said Indian River County Court House be required to ob- <br />serve the foregoing wage scale and pay employees in accordance therewith. <br />The adoption of the resolution being duly seconded, upon roll call it was adopted by <br />the following votes t►yess Commissioners Vickers; Hudge; Poole; Helseth and Hamilton. Nays <br />none. The resolution was declared adopted. <br />W. H. Garns, representative of the County in the construction of the Court House appear- <br />ed and advised that it will be necessary to have tested by some commercial concern the band, <br />Ojue rock and concrete such costs to be borne by the County, but paid for out of Court House <br />funds. It was ordered that Mr. Garns have some recognized testing lobatcry tests these <br />terials to the satisfaction of the Government inspector or inspectors. <br />The question of the kind of brick to be used in the Court House then casae up for dis- <br />cuseion. In the plans and specifications certain brick to cost $30.00 per thousand was named, <br />and in the event the Board d®sires a higher grade brick the difference in price must be paid <br />by the County. D. H. ssaunders, a representative of the Brief & Tile Ma'nufa'cturing Co ., of <br />Birmingham, Alabama, was present and exhibited the various type's and style of brick of his <br />firm. After carefully considering the same, it was moved, seconded and carried that brick <br />339 Cordova Flash brick, manufactured by this concern, at a price of 640.00 per thousand <br />e purchased through Mr. -sunders. Such price to be delivered on the project. <br />There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board then <br />adjourned until the regular meeting to be held in May, unless sooner called together on order <br />of the Chairman.
