Ll <br />917 <br />Mr Frank A. Knight, Road Superintendent, appeared before the Board and requested <br />authorization to purchase lumber to repair bridge at Glendale Blvd. and Lateral "B„. The <br />Board instructed qtr Knight to obtain the needed material from Cdr. D. M. Dominici, Fellsmere, <br />Florida. <br />Commissioner Poole introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption, to -wit: <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORISING PARTICIPATION <br />OF THE COUNTY IN THE OLD AGE ASSISTANCE <br />PLAN ADMINISTERED BY TW STATE BOARD OF <br />SOCIAL WELFARE <br />WEEMS, on the 7th day of July A. D. 1936, this Board passed a resolution that -it <br />would include in its current budget an item sufficient -to permit the County to participate <br />under certain conditions in an Old Age Assistance Pian to be administered by the State Burd <br />of' Social Welfare, and, <br />Nf►S, pursuant to tbw above mentioned resolution an item was included in the <br />budget for ,the care of the indigent of the County and a sufficient amount of thia item is now <br />available for use in participating in the old Age AssistanaePlan being administered by the <br />State Board of Social Welfare, <br />NOSE, TfSREF, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indiam River <br />County, Florida, in session duly assembled, as follows: <br />1. That the sum of $820!.00 dollars be and the same is hereby .made immediwtely avail- <br />able as this County's share in participating for the period of three months from April 1, 1937 <br />to June 30, 1937, inclusive in the Old Age Assistance Plan being administered by the State <br />Board of Social Welfare for the indigent aged, upon the following .terms and conditions, to - <br />wit: <br />(a) That the money will be spent by that Baird during the quarter beginning !April <br />1, 1937, and. ending June 30, 1937, only if and when tbw'money is matched by an equal amount <br />of Federal funds,; <br />(b) The money -shall be spent only in this County and in no other County of the State; <br />(c)The money shall be spent only fw direct relief in old age assietam-e to in- <br />digent aged persons seventy years of age or mwe and no part thereof sbal1 be spent fm the <br />payment of administrative costs in giving old age.asssistance; <br />(d) If any of the money shall remain in the hands of the State Board of Social Wel- <br />fare at the end of the :quarter above referred to, the same shall be refunded to this Board.. <br />2. Thal the: proper officers be and they are hereby instructed to forthwith draw a <br />County Warrant to the order of the State Board '' Social Welfare in the amount above set out <br />thatthe Warrant be forthwith ,delivered to the Board. <br />3. That the 11tate BaLrd of Social Welfare is hereby designated as the agent of this <br />Board for the purpose of administering old age assistance in this County subject to the terms <br />and conditions set fcrth in this resolution. <br />4. That the approprbLtion of County fends made by thi% resolution is pursuant to <br />Chapter 17,477 Laws of Florida, Acts of 1935, generally referred to as the 1935 Social Welfare <br />Act of Florida. <br />The resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Vickers, and upon being put to a <br />vote the same was unanimously adopted. <br />The several bills -and accounts agaLnet the County, having been audited, were examined <br />and found correct were approved, and warrants ordered issued in settlement of same. Such <br />bills and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk Circuit Court. The warrants <br />issued from the respective funds being listed in the supplemental minute 'book as required <br />by the rules and practice of the State Auditing Department, reference to said record and <br />
