Fletcher, contractor, in - <br />strutted to proceed with the work. <br />On motion made by S. E. Glover, seconded by E. P. Poole and carried, the following <br />agreement was accepted by the Board. <br />Form ®per -1 <br />SPONS01118 `,,PROPOSAL NO.� <br />COUNTY SERIAL NO, 31-3-G;16 <br />Vero Beach, Florida <br />October 4th, 1937 <br />In consideration of expenditures to be made from Federal fends on the proposal des- <br />ignated hereon we, Board of County Commissioners, Indian River County, the sponsors, do hereby <br />agree that we will finance such part of'the entire cost thereof as is not to be.,supplied from <br />Federal funds. Said sum not to exceed the amount of $22#00 cash, also 1 dump truck and oper*► <br />ator• <br />R. E. Mudge <br />Chairman <br />Mr. R. R. Martin, Ft. Pierce, appeared before the board and requested that a oo�- <br />mmittee be appointed to work with a committee from St. Lucie County, in order to try and get <br />5 the State Road Department to make a survey of the peninsular road From Riomar to south County <br />line, which was recently brushed out and grubbed by the Cou;ity. E. P. Poole was appointed <br />as a committee to work with Mr. Martin and Committee from St. Lucie County. <br />Mr. H. H. Heald appeared before the board and requested certain information with <br />regard to a road petition which had been formerly filed and made reference to said petition, <br />page 577, book 1, County Commissioners Minutes, Frank A. Knight,Road Superintendent was re- <br />quested to make an investagation and report back to the Board as to merits and costs of the <br />Road„ <br />Mr, F. C. Poppell appeared before the Board and offered to place a."Washington <br />Statue" on the Cturthouse° grounds, 9 feet 6 inches high, which weighed 16311 pounds, at a <br />cost of $1500.00 less 10% and stated that public subscription in the amount of approximately <br />$265.00 had been pledged provided the County would accept his proposal. Mr. Poppell was'advisel <br />by the Board that no provision had been made in the budget for expenditures of this kind. <br />Mr. E. P. Poole was appointed as a committee to make arrangment for the transports - <br />tion of approximately 40 C.C.C. boys to the Armory, Wiest Palm Beach and return on October 19. <br />The County Tax Assessor appeared before the Board and requested an extenalon of <br />time to October 19th, 1937, for the purpose of presenting the tax assessment roll for Indian <br />River County for the year 1937 to the Board of County Commissioners for their final consider,�-G- <br />ation and approval. <br />Thereupon Commissioner Poole introduced the following resoluti= and moved its <br />adoption, to -wit: <br />WHEREAS the County Tax Assessor for Indian River County has filed before this Board <br />of the County,tax assessment roll for the year 1937 and appearing proper so to do. <br />THEREFORE, be it resolved that the time for the presenting to this Board of the <br />County tax assessment roll for the year 1937 by the County Tax Assessor be and it is herewith <br />extended to October 19th# 1937 at the hour of 9:30 Ovolbok A. M. at which time the County <br />Tax Assessor shall present said County Tax assessment roll to this Board. <br />The motion for the adoption of the resolution being duly seconded it was declared <br />adopted by the following vote. <br />LAyes- Mudge, Vickers, Glover and Poole. <br />Hayes „None. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
