RESOLUTION. <br />The following resolution was introduced by Commissioner Badger; who moved its adoption¢. <br />Number of hookworm, treatments given were.R5. <br />Your venera&l diaease c linins were held with -an_.attendance of 70. <br />One pre-school child..and three school children had their tonsils and adenoids removed <br />at a clinic at the Indian River Hospital. <br />Eight patients were referred to d=octors for examinations and seven cases were hospit- <br />alized. <br />A cripple girl was taken to Coral Gables Clinic for the adjustment of Traces. <br />The nurse assisted with the distribution of the Christmas Boxes. <br />It was ordered that ae warrant for the sum of $12.00 be drawn on the General Revenue <br />Fund to Mrs. Julia E. Fields for the care of John Council. <br />It was ordered that Mrs. U ly Bond be stricken from the bothers Pension Fund list by. <br />reason of the fact that her husband had been pardoned as of December 19th., 1937. <br />It was ordered that Mrs. Daisy Barker, Wabasso, be reinstated on the Mothers Pension <br />Fund List to receive the sum of $8.00 per month until the further orders of the board. <br />It pas -ordered that W. R. Duncan Tax Assessor be paid the.sum of $100.00 each month <br />for the remainder of the year, from the General Revenue Fund, to apply on Assessors Commission <br />for the year 1938. <br />Mr. F. G. Fletcher appeared before the Board and offered for sale approximately 35 <br />or 40 creosoge pilingac-however the board decided that they would not purchase said piling. <br />On motion made by S. E. Glover, seconded by Frank C. Vickers and carried it was order- <br />ed that Frank A. Knight, Road Superintendent purchase a Bush and Bob Harrow at a cost of <br />approximately $150.00 to be used for County road purposes. <br />Mr. Chas. D. Toole, President of the Nero Beach Volunteer Fire Department and Secretary <br />of the. Indian River County Fruit Festival Association,appeared before the Board and invited the <br />Commissioners up to inspect the new building being constructed by the Indian River County Fruit <br />Festival Association and -this having been done Mr. Toole requested the Board to donate $500.00 <br />toward the construction and completion of said building pointing outthe-many advantages that a <br />building of this kind and type would give to Indian River County. After careful ddn.sideration <br />on motion made by S. E. Glover, seconded by Edwin A. Helseth_and carried it was ordered that.. <br />$500.00 be appropriated from the General Revenue Fund, which said amount had been heretofore <br />earmarked for advertising purposes and it was further ordered that a warrant be drawn on the <br />General Revenue Fund for the sum of $500.00 payable to Indian River County Fruit Festival Assoc- <br />iation for the purpose of advertising-epromoting Indian River County. <br />At the request of the Board of County Commissioner Mr. C. F.. Simpson and Mr. Fischer <br />representing the Florida Portland Cement Company, and Mr. H. 0. Bishop and lir. Hall representing <br />the Barrett Roofing Company and Mr. William H. Hensick and Mr. W. H. Garns, Contractor and Arch- <br />itect respectfully, appeared before the Board for the purpose of making a further inspection <br />with regard to the leaks in the Courthouse and later the same day Mr. Garns speaking.for the <br />heretofore named committee reported that in making various tests for leaks that a water hose <br />had been turned on first below the belt course and then a bove the belt course and very soon <br />afterwards the water made its appearance on the inside of the building and further stated that <br />in their opinion it seems to be quite evident that the leaks are a result of defective motar <br />and of the belt course around the building. The Board then expressed their appreciation to all <br />of these gentlement for their services rendered. <br />A coroners report in the matter of the death of Louis Benson was filed by Hon. Geo. <br />W. Walters Coroner. <br />The Board of Commissioners of Indian River Mosquito Control.
