Of Indian River County, and obligations assumed by said County, under the provisions of House <br />Bill No. 30, acts of the 1933 Legislature; and <br />WHEREAS, after carefully considering all of such proposals and taking into consider- <br />ation the amount of funds available for that purpose, and the approximate value of said bonds <br />and obligations, it is deemed advisable and expedient to purchase and cancel certain of said <br />bonds and obligations to -wit: <br />One (1) St. Lucie County Special Road and Bridge District #J% Bond, dated January 1, <br />1918, due July 1, 1934, at a price of 91 Net, with July 1, 1934 Coupon attached, as designated <br />offering "A". <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners that the State Board <br />of Administration be requested to purchase and cancel the securities listed above at the price <br />quoted. <br />The resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Glover and upon being put to a vote <br />the same was unanimously adopted. <br />It was ordered the Inspectors, Clerk and Deputy.of Election held Tuesday May 3, 1938 <br />be paid according to statements approved by this Board and on file in the Clerk's office and' <br />the Clerk instructed to issue the warrants in settlement of raid claims against the County. <br />A letter from Mr. W. E. Sexton was read to the Board with regard to the condition of <br />the County road South of Mr.18exton's residence. Frank A. Knight, Road Superintendent, was <br />ordered to place marl on said road in order that its condition might be improved and also to <br />obtain the cost of oiling the road in order that it might be further improved. <br />A. RESOLUTION <br />Commissioner C. S. Michael introduced the following resolution and moved its adop- <br />tion, to -wit: <br />Whereas, it appears that in the year 1934 a discussion was had between the members of <br />this Board and Clark S. Rice, former Sheriff of this County, with regard to accounts of the <br />said Clark S. Rice from the standpoint of the possibility of several hundred dollars being due <br />to Indian River County; <br />That the minutes of this Board of August 7, 1934 show the following recital: "Clark <br />S. Rice, former Sheriff, appeared before the Board with copy of audit of the Sheriff's office <br />and requested the Clerk to read the audit, which was done. Mr. Rice then explained fully all <br />discrepancies as alleged in the auditor's report"; and <br />Whereas, the Comptroller of the State of Florida has requested that this Board indi- <br />cate definitely what disposition it now desires to make of said item; and <br />Whereas, it appears from the minutes of this Board that the item had been previously <br />disposed of by the then members of this Board to'the satisfaction of all interested parties; <br />therefore, <br />Be It Resolved that this Board express herewith the fact that this Board considers <br />said matter terminated by reason of the recitals of the minutes of this Board of previous years <br />and from which recitals it appears that said matter was finally settled and determined by said <br />previous Board. <br />The motion for the adoption of the resolution being duly seconded,.,it was declared <br />adopted by the following vote.- <br />Ayes: <br />ote: <br />Ayes: C.
