1 <br />1 <br />t <br />A transient was found.ill by the Highway at Winter Beach and taken to the Hospital. <br />The Red Cross paid for care of same. <br />The nurse also assisted with the Christmas celebration. <br />On motion made by S. E. Glover seconded by Frank C. Vickers and unanimously carried <br />it was ordered the County Nurse be instructed that authorization be made by her on behalf of the <br />County Commissioners for the expenditure of.County Funds other than at a regular meeting Of the <br />Board only in the event of emergencies and in such emergencies the County Nurse be authorized <br />to incur a tdtal expenditure of not to exceed $10.00 and in the event of an emergency regarding <br />the expenditure of more than,$10.00 the same be not authorized unless with the approval of the <br />member of'the Hoard from the District in which the emergency arises. <br />Also that when patients or -applicants who are employed or own their homes or other <br />property apply for County Assistance that same be not authorized. <br />proved. <br />The minutes of November 1st., 22nd, also December 6th., and 16th. were read and ap- <br />The County Depository filed its monthly statement, showing receipts and disbursements <br />of various funds which having been audited were found to be correct. <br />The several bills and accounts against the County having been audited, were examined <br />and found correct were approved and warrants ordered issued in settlement -of same, such bills <br />and accounts botag on file in the .Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court. The warrants issued <br />from the respective funds being listed in the supplemental minute book as required by the rules <br />and practice of the State Auditing Department, reference to said record and the list ,so record- <br />ed being made a part of these minutes. <br />There being no further business.on motion made seconded and carried the Board then <br />adjourned. <br />ATTEST: <br />iP zRo',� • <br />he anon Protem. <br />TUESDAY,,*__FEB OARY 7th.. 1939. <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County�met at the Court house in <br />Vero Beach, at 10:00 o'clock A. M., Tuesday, February 7th., 1939 in regular meeting with the <br />following members of the Board present; Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman Protem; S. E. Glover; W. C. <br />Graves, Jr.; C. S.. Michael and Frank C. Vickers. Also present was Charles A. Mitchell, Attorney <br />for the Board; Wm. W. Frick, Sheriff and Douglas Baker, Clerk. <br />The minutes of January 5th., 1939 were read and approved. <br />Mrs. Perth B. Owens, WPA Supervisor.of this area appeared before the Board and pre sant- <br />the proposed <br />ed/Project and Budget of the WPA Spring Room for the ensuing year and after careful consideratio <br />it was moved by W. C. Graves, Jr. seconded by Frank C. Vickers and unanimously carried that same) <br />be adopted and approved and that the County would appropriate the sum of $50.00 per month in <br />lieu of -$35.00 per month which had been paid in the past with the understanding that Mrs. Rose <br />Toohey retained, if possible, in charge of the local WPA Sewing 'Room. <br />Mr. R. .R. Martin ap_ieared before t ie Board apd.1,"qu6sted the Board sponsor a WPA' P►ro- <br />jest covering clearing and grading the proposed Beach Highway from 1domar to the South County <br />Line. The Board advised Mr. Martin that thug would give due consideration to this request. <br />Mr. and Mrs".
