<br />authorized under the laws of said State to administer .
<br />oaths, came J. J: Schumann, business manager of the
<br />Vero Beach Press -Journal, a newspaper published in
<br />Vero Beach, Indian River County, Florida, who, being
<br />first duly sworn,says that the Vero Beach Press -
<br />Journal is a newspaper which has been continuously
<br />published at least once a week, and which has been
<br />entered as second class mail matter, in Vero Beach,
<br />Indian River County, Florida, for a period of more
<br />than one year next preceding the first insertion of
<br />this publication; that the advertisement a copy of
<br />j which is hereto attached, was published in the Vero
<br />Beach Press -Journal

<br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC . MEETING FOR
<br />THE PURPOSE OF EXPLAINING AND
<br />DISCUSSING PROPOSED INCREASEI
<br />IN THE 1944-1945 . BUDGET OF THE
<br />BOARD OF . COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
<br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA,
<br />Notice is hereby given by the Board
<br />of County Commissioners of Indian River.
<br />County, Florida that it will hold a public
<br />meeting in the County Commissioner's
<br />Room in the Indian River County Court
<br />House at Vero Beach, Florida at the hour
<br />of 10 o'clock A. M., Eastern war Time,
<br />July 27, 1944, for the pu7ose of explain-
<br />ing and discussing a proposed_ increase
<br />in the 1944-1945 budget of the Board of
<br />County Commissioners' of Indian River
<br />County, Florida, and which increase is
<br />in respect to an increase of such budget
<br />for said year as compared with the budget
<br />for the preceeding year or for the'year
<br />1940-41, whichever may be the larger.
<br />At said meeting . an opportunity will
<br />be afforded the tax payers present to dis-
<br />cuss the same and the said proposed in-
<br />crease in said budget. This notice is
<br />published pursuant to a resolution adopt-
<br />ed by the Board of County Commissioners
<br />of Indian River County, Florida under
<br />the provisions of Chapter 22079, Laws of
<br />Florida.
<br />This 13th day of July, 1944.

<br />and which Notice so published did fix the time for said meeting not lees than five nor more
<br />ten days from the date of the last publication of such Notice; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the time fixed by said Resolution and published Notice for the holding of said
<br />meeting having arrived, and said meeting being duly convened and the proposed increase in the
<br />budget having been explained and discussed at said meeting by the budget making authority and
<br />opportunity having been afforded the taxpayers present at such meeting to discuss the same;
<br />therefore,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED, that this Certificate of Compliance be recorded in the minutes of this
<br />meeting duly called and held on July 279 1944, pursuant to published notice as aforesaid and
<br />that said proposed budget, together with a certified copy of this Certificate of Compliance, be
<br />submitted to the State Comptroller for reference to the State Budget Commission as provided by
<br />law.
<br />The Motion for the adoption of said Resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Barkos-
<br />kie and unanimously carried.
<br />'T'here being no further business on Motion made, seconded and carried, the Board then ad-
<br />journed.
