<br />The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were ex-
<br />amined and found correct, were approved and warrants issued in settlement of same. Such bills
<br />and accounts being on file in the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court, the Warrants so
<br />issued from the respective funds being listed in the Supplemental Minute Book, as provided by
<br />the rules of the State Auditor, reference to such record and the list so recorded being made a
<br />part of these minutes.
<br />The County Depository filed its monthly statement, showing receipt and disbursements
<br />of the various funds, which having been audited were found to be correct.
<br />There being no further business, on motion made, seconded and carried, the Board
<br />then adjourned.

<br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Court House in
<br />VeroABeach, at 10100 o'clock A. M. Tuesday, September 4,. 1945, in regular meeting with the fol..'
<br />lowing members of the Board present: W. C. Graves, Jr., Chairman, Frank C. Vickers, S. B.
<br />Glover and R. W. Graves. Ateett Albert 0. Helseth. Also present were Charles A. Mitchell,
<br />Attorney, Sheriff L. B. O'Steen, E. E. Carter, County Engineer, and Douglas Baker, Clerk.
<br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
<br />Mrs. F. B. Taylor and Miss Edna Tyler, representing the Indian River County Federation
<br />of Womens Clubs, appeared before the Board and urged that some action be .taken toward the es-
<br />tablishment of a County Health Unit with the services of a Sanitary Officer. The Board agreed
<br />to cooperate in every way possible in order that the foregoing request be complied with.
<br />The Board authorized the Hospital Committee, composed of W. C. Graves, Jr., and
<br />Charles A. Mitchell, to file application with the proper Federal authorities, in the name of the
<br />'City ,of Vero Beaeh and Indian River County4as co-sponsors, and to obtain a resolution from the
<br />City of Vero Beach agreeing to One-half of the cost in connection with said application for the
<br />purpose of obtaining the services of an architect, together with the plans, etc., relating to
<br />a new hospital post-war project.
<br />Alice Helieso, County Nurse, appeared before the Board and filed a report of her
<br />activities for the month of August, as follows, to -wit:
