He also asked that a copy of Geosyntec's report <br />be put on the County's website. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Flescher, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Solari, to: (1) approve and authorize the Chairman to <br />execute Work Order No. 10 authorizing Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. <br />to provide continuation of the Brownfields assessment work for the <br />Former Gifford Road Landfill for a not -to -exceed fee of $81,079; and <br />(2) to publish the electronic "Brownfields Site Assessment South <br />Gifford Road Landfill" report on the County's website. <br />A brief discussion ensued about whether toxins discovered at the <br />subject site would prevent future redevelopment of the site for <br />community/recreational use. <br />Althea McKenzie opined that enough research has already been done <br />determining that the former Gifford Road Landfill site is <br />contaminated and did not understand the need to further expend <br />monies. She also questioned the safety of possible future <br />redevelopment of the site for recreational uses. <br />(Clerk's Note: Commissioner Zorc exited the meeting at 2:45 p.m.) <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION, and by a 4-0 vote <br />(Commissioner Zorc absent), the Motion carried. <br />16.
