The Board of County Commissioner3 of Indian River County met at the Court House in
<br />Vero Beach, Florida, at 10:00 o'clock A. M., Tuesday, November 4, 1947, in regular meeting with,l.
<br />iI the following members of the Board presents W. C. Graves, Jr., Chairman; Albert 0. Helseth, a
<br />S. E. Glover, J. L. Helpling, and Frank C. Vickers. Also present were Charles A. Mitchell'
<br />Attorney; E. E. Carter, Road Superintendent; L. B. O'Steen, Sheriff; Maude Lambert, County
<br />j Nurse, and Douglas Baker, Clerk.
<br />Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
<br />Maude Lambert, County Nurse, appeared before the Board and made a report of her
<br />f; activities for the month of November. Said report was received and ordered filed with the
<br />Clerk.

<br />Grocery orders in the sum of $6.00 per iWW'd for B. E. Palcho was approved. j
<br />M. A. Boudet, County agent, filed a report of his activities for the month of Nov-
<br />ember, and also an annual report which was received with interest by the Board. Said reports
<br />were ordered filed with the Clerk.
<br />Notary Public Bond for Glenn D. Mood► in the sum of $500.00 with Lumbermen's Mutual
<br />Casualty Company of Chicago, Illinois, as surety was approved November 13, 1947, by Douglas
<br />Baker, Clerk, as provided by Law.

<br />Copy of Report No. 3036 made on the audit of accounts of/the former Assessor of `axes
<br />i of Indian River County as of January 8, 19479 was presented to the Board of County Commissioners
<br />�,as provided by Section 125.09, Florida Statutes of 1941 and made a part of the public records
<br />of Indian River County.

<br />Application of admission to the Florida State Tuberculosis Sanatorium of Mrs. E. R.
<br />Bell was approved.
<br />The Board authorized Mr. N. V. Eve custodian of County land east of Winter Beach
<br />bridge and north of road.
<br />County Deed No. 278 was executed by the Board to the Indian River Farms Drainage
<br />District as proV ded under Chapter 22079' Acts of 1943.
<br />Application for beverage license (Series 1 COP) by Benny Lee Watson and Ray Latharp
<br />"(Friendly Cafe) south of Jackson's grocery store, Gifford, Florida,was approved.
<br />u Application to transfer beverage license No. 14 (Series 8 CCP) from E. W. Knight to
<br />I.Aline Kersey (Greenlear Bar) west of Gifford, Florida, was approved.
<br />On motion made by Commissioner Helpling, seconded by Commissioner Glover and unani-
<br />mously carried the Board granted Sylvester Woods(Wabasso, Florida) permission to extend the
<br />present ditch on the old dock road of County right of way going to marsh.
<br />Commissioner Glover introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption as
<br />follows, to -wit:
<br />WHEREAS, under date of April 15, 19471 J. H. McLean conveyed to Indian River County
<br />property described as:
<br />That part of the West *.of the Southeast * of the Southeast -j lying East of canal in
<br />Section 22, Township 32 South, Range 39 East.
<br />subject to a life estate in .the Grantor and for the purpose of indemnifying the County against
<br />advances made in behalf of J. H. McLean as an indigent citizen and with the understanding that
<br />upon the death of the said J. H. McLean, the County should sell said property and deposit the
<br />proceeds of said sale in the County General Fund to be used for welfare purposes.
