M., Tuesday, September 21, 1948, in special meeting with the <br />r <br />I following members of the Board present: W. C.. Braves, Jr., Chairman; Albert - 0. H®lseth,- <br />Jo L. Helpli g -`and, Ftai* E@ 1 'Abgenti 1. Glover. Also present were Charles A. <br />"Mitchell, Attorney; L. B. O'Steen, Sheriff; and Douglas Baker, Clerki <br />Chairman Graves announced this meeting had been called for the purpose of discussing <br />Sithe Indian River County Health Unit together with such other business as might be properly <br />I <br />brought before the Board, Also present at this meeting were Doctor George A. Dame,Director <br />� of the Florida State Board of Health; Doctor J. Ross Hague, Health Officer of the Indian <br />ii <br />!River County Health Unit; and Mrs. Alice Helleso, Public Health Nursing Supervisor of the <br />'ilIndian River County Health Unit. <br />Considerable discussion pro and con was held between the Board and others mentioned, <br />�Bthen the Board met in executive session with Dr. Dame At the conclusion of the discussions <br />r, <br />held] Dr. Dame stated to the Board that in his opinions if he were permitted to do so by the <br />Board, that he could get matters properly adju&tdd which would eliminate a great deal of mis- <br />understanding and some friction between the officials and personnel -of the Indian River County <br />I <br />Health unit. The Board agreed that they would co-operate with Dr. Dame and leave the matter <br />jin his hands for a reasonable length of time with the understanding that conditions would be <br />improved. <br />it <br />f <br />Application for admission to the State Tuberculosis Sanitorium for June Marceau, <br />i <br />Wabasso, Florida, was Approved. <br />4i Application for beverage license of Martin Hammer (Hammer's Grocery) 39th and Osceola,,, <br />�j <br />ii Vero Beach, Florida, Series (2-A) PS in wet counties only (beer and wine for consumption off <br />j of premises) was approved. <br />Application for beverage license for Charles M. Brush (Gwenda Lee Restaurant) <br />south of Vero Beach on U. S.
