Joseph W. Walton, a citizen andproperty owner and the Chairman of the Mayor's <br />lCommittee, appointer by Mayor Barber of the City of Vero Beach, with respect to Road AIA, <br />appeared before the Board and discussed developments to date with'res'pect to Road AlA from the <br />`S►outh County Line to Beachland Boulevard in the City of Vero Beach. Col. Walton advised in <br />order that the State Road Department be entirely satisfied with the location of theroad in <br />such area, it was advisable that the Road Department be requested to make an immediate survey <br />of the route of the road from the South County Line to Beachland Boulevard and that, thereupon,,: <br />the County could proceed to obtain the necessary right of way in order that the State take <br />u; over and maintain and improve the road. <br />Thereupon, it was moved by Commissioner Stewart, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, <br />and unanimously adopted, that letter be addressed in behalf of the Board to Hon. Merrill P. <br />(Barber, member of the State Road Department, requesting.that arrangements be made for a survey <br />by the State Road Department at the earliest possible moment of Route of Road AIA from the <br />d' <br />{ South County Line of Indian River County to Beachland Boulevard in the City of Vero Beach and <br />the road to generally follow its present route and with -the suggestion that Road Department <br />!� Representatives, in connection with the making of such survey, contact the County Engineering <br />Department and contact the officials of the City of Vero Beach with regard to their `wihwe of <br />the matter and, particularly, with respect to the location of such road vdthin the City of <br />'hero Beach. <br />Superintendent J. A4,1hompson appeared before, the Board -stating the School Bcard <br />�` needed more office space for records and clericil ,work, and Douglas Bakery Clerk. -Circuit <br />° Court, was instructed to see -if -some satisfactory arrangement might be :made to provide addition- <br />al space for the superintendentis off cei: and the Board suggested- that perhaps Mr6 Naily <br />G' Supervisor of the Florida Parole Commission could contact City officials asking them to <br />provide .office space for the Florida Parole Commission out at the former naval .Base: naw under <br />j the supervision of theCity of Vero :Beach. <br />It was moved by Commissioner Stewart seconded by,,Commissioner Waddell and urian- <br />pi imously ca *led that the County pay the Chamber of Commerce an amount not to exceed the sum <br />s of $300.00 for additional advertising and publicity purposes for Indian River County* <br />i <br />a The following were appointed Deputy Sheriffs. by L.
