ARTICLE 28 <br />ANNUAL LEAVE <br />28.01 Ianployees in the bargaining unit shall be entitled to accrue paid annual leave on the <br />following basis: <br />1. Eleven (11) working days vacation for shift employees and ten (10) working days <br />vacation for non -shift employees shall be earned each year for the first five (5) <br />years of continuous employment commencing with the anniversary date. <br />2. Sixteen (16) working days vacation for shift employees and fifteen (15) working <br />days vacation for non -shift employees shall be earned at the start of the sixth year <br />of continuous employment through the end of the tenth year of continuous <br />employment. <br />3. For each additional year of continuous employment, an additional day of vacation <br />shall be earned up to a maximum of twenty-one (21) days per year for shift <br />employees and twenty (20) days per year for non -shift employees: <br />CONTINUOUS EMPLOYMENT ANNUAL DAYS EARNED <br />SHIFT NON -SHIFT <br />11 YEARS 17 DAYS 16 DAYS <br />12 YEARS 18 DAYS 17 DAYS <br />13 YEARS 19 DAYS 18 DAYS <br />14 YEARS 20 DAYS 19 DAYS <br />15 YEARS 21 DAYS 20 DAYS <br />28.02 Forty-two (42) days may be carried over from year to year, however, an employee shall <br />not be allowed more than thirty (30) days annual leave in a one-half (1/2) year period. <br />28.03 Employer rules and regulations will apply regarding notification and/or pay for annual <br />leave earned above 500 hours. Employees retiring after entering the DROP will be <br />eligible to receive up to 300 hours of leave upon separation. <br />
