PROCLAMATION <br />DESIGNATING APRIL 1 THROUGH APRIL 30, 2015 AS <br />WATER CONSERVATION MONTH <br />IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, water is the basic and essential need of every living creature, and clean, <br />safe and sustainable water resources are vital to Indian River County's economy, <br />environment, citizens and visitors; and <br />WHEREAS, to support life, the average adult needs a little more than 1/2 gallon of <br />water daily, yet each person in Florida uses about 120 to 150 gallons of water a day; and <br />WHEREAS, the State of Florida, Water Management Districts, and Indian River <br />County continue to work together in an effort to increase awareness about the importance of <br />water conservation; and <br />WHEREAS, every business, visitor and resident can make a difference when it comes <br />to saving water; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County Utilities supports conservation efforts by promoting <br />the use of Reclaimed Water to meet non -Potable water needs, such as landscape irrigation <br />and industrial processes; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County Utilities shows a commitment to water conservation <br />through an established rate plan that encourages reduced usage; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County Utilities continues to perform Internal Water Audits to <br />ensure system efficiency; and <br />WHEREAS, water conservation is the easiest, and least costly approach at preserving <br />our finite natural resource. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, that the month of April 2015, be designated <br />as WATER CONSERVATION MONTH in Indian River County, and all citizens are <br />encouraged to use this occasion to increase their awareness of the importance of Water <br />Conservation and the need to use Water more efficiently. <br />Adopted this 24th day of March, 2015. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Wesley S.
