Gray, Jr. D(_ <br /> Coastal Engineer V <br /> SUBJECT: Work Order No. 2 Morgan & Eklund, Inc. <br /> 2015 Beach Profile Monitoring Surveys <br /> DATE: May 5, 2015 <br /> DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br /> On October 1, 2013, the Board approved a contract with Morgan & Eklund, Inc. (M&E) for <br /> Professional Land Surveying and Mapping Services for a one-year term. On October 7, 2014 the <br /> Board renewed the contract until September 30, 2015. M&E is the selected County Consultant <br /> for professional onshore/offshore hydrographic surveying services. <br /> The proposed Work Order No. 2 provides annual hydrographic surveying (beach profile) services <br /> for the Sector 3 and Sector 7 Beach Restoration Projects and additional surveying to complete <br /> a 2015 countywide (22.4 miles) monitoring program. Beach profile surveys are necessary to <br /> identify shoreline and volumetric changes throughout the County. All onshore and offshore <br /> beach profile surveys are conducted along The Florida Department of Environmental Protection <br /> (FDEP) Range Monuments at approximately 1,000 foot intervals. For project tracking purposes, <br /> Work Order No. 2 is divided into three (3) separate tasks. <br /> Task 1: 2015 Sector 3 Beach and Dune Restoration Project Post Construction Monitoring Survey <br /> By Permit, annual Post Construction hydrographic surveying is required to assess the <br /> performance of the Sector 3 Beach and Dune Project area. Task 1 includes all surveying (5.8 <br /> miles) required to complete the 2015 physical monitoring of the Sector 3 Beach and Dune Project <br /> area. Task 1 totals a lump sum amount of$17,825. <br /> Task 2: 2015 Sector 7 Post Construction Monitoring <br /> In the spring of 2007, the County completed construction of the Sector 7 Beach Restoration <br /> Project. The County has completed all Permit required post construction monitoring for the <br /> Sector 7 Project. However, hydrographic surveys of the project area have continued annually to <br /> determine the long term performance of the project. Task 2 includes all surveying (2 miles) <br /> required to continue the annual monitoring of the Sector 7 Beach Nourishment Project.
