Baird, County Administrator <br /> THROUGH: John King,Director of Emergency Serv.ces <br /> FROM: Brian Burkeen,Assistant Chief <br /> DATE: May 13 2015 <br /> SUBJECT: Approval of Amended Work Order No. 1 for Renovations on Fire Rescue <br /> Station#1 (1500 Old Dixie) <br /> It is respectfully requested that the information contained herein be given formal consideration by the <br /> Emergency Services District Board of Commissioners. <br /> DESCRIPTION: <br /> On December 16, 2014,the BCC approved Work Order No. 1 which provided for a scope of work <br /> for the renovation construction for Fire Station 1 in the amount of$58,232.00. Since that date,it was <br /> discovered that the scope of work needed to be changed and expanded in order to accomplish the <br /> additional tasks agreed upon in planning meetings.Under this scope there are additional plans related <br /> to drawings,engineering and schematics. The expanded scope of this proposal includes: <br /> • Additional Schematic,Design Development Services by Paul Dritenbas <br /> • Working Drawings to include a permit set of drawings by Paul Dritenbas <br /> • Additional Civil Design Services for driveway design and temporary modular <br /> housing by Carter Associates <br /> Continuing with the Board approved Professional Design/Build Services Agreement with Barth <br /> Construction; the attached summary outlines programming, design & pre-construction increased <br /> costs of$59,095.00,making the total cost of Amended Work Order No. 1 $117,327.00 <br /> FUNDING: <br /> ITEM Amount Account Number <br /> Station#1 Renovation Construction $59,095.00 11412022-066510-15007 <br /> Funding is to be derived from Emergency Services District budget. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends approval of the additional pre-construction cost for renovations of Fire Station#1 <br /> as outlined. <br /> 220 <br />
