FY 2015 Local Solicitation <br /> Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG)- <br /> ABSTRACT <br /> Applicants Name: Indian River County <br /> Sub-recipient— Indian River County Sheriff's Office <br /> Title of Project: FY 2015 Local Solicitation - Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance <br /> Grant (JAG): Local Solicitation - Information Technology Project <br /> Goals of Project: To purchase high-powered computer hardware/software to maximize <br /> system support, structure, and data security. <br /> Strategies: All items will be purchased by December 31, 2015. The Indian River <br /> County Sheriff's Office will use the 2015 Edward Byrne Memorial JAG: <br /> Local Solicitation funds to purchase necessary computer hardware for our <br /> Information Technology Section. This technology is crucial to our agency <br /> in order to increase the efficiency of police in ways that ultimately <br /> improve their service and performance. The Information Technology <br /> Section is staffed with nine personnel to provide support and service to <br /> approximately 550 employees and volunteers, along with providing <br /> technological support to several municipalities within Indian River <br /> County. The computer hardware is essential to enhance security for our <br /> police information systems; to deploy, implement, and execute resources <br /> vital to deputies and citizens of Indian River County; and to increase <br /> officer safety significantly by minimizing down time. <br /> Project Identifiers: <br /> 1.
