Mr. W. D. Perdue appeared before the Board and requested a replat of Vero Beach <br />Heights Subdivision reverting same back to acreage be approved by the Board. Mr. Perdue <br />was advised same would be approved at such time as the new plat had been properly prepared <br />and submitted for approval to be filed. <br />Permission was granted to the State Road Department to use the old road for detour <br />purposes near the "Go Slow" bridge while the latter was being rebuilt. This was done upon <br />motion of Commissioner Stewart, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, and carried. <br />ftE:SOLUTION <br />Coamissioner Aubrey L. Waddell. introduced the following Resolution and moved its <br />adoption as follows, to -wits <br />WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, Florida, that it would be to the best interests of the citizens of this county, as <br />well as the citizens of Brevard County, that a state road be opened and established from the <br />junction of State Roads 507 and 512 in the City of Fellsmere of this county and thence <br />North on said State Road 507 to the Brevard CeUnty line and thence North in Brevard County <br />to a junction with State Road 514; now, therefore, <br />BT IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, <br />that this Board does herewith request the State Road Department of Florida to immediately <br />make a survey to determine the route and approximate costs of constructing a State Road as <br />outlined above. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the Honor- <br />able Alfred A. McKethan, Chairman, Honorable Merrill P. Barber, Member, and the Honorable <br />Trusten P. Drake, Jr., Member, of the State Road Department of Florida, and to the Honorable <br />Max Roads, member of the Board of County Commissioners of Brevard County, Florida. <br />'The foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Tom N. Stewart and <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Notary Public Bond for Paul R. Stevenson in the sum of $500.00 with the American <br />Surety Company as surety was approved by Douglas Baker, Clerk Circuit Court as provided by <br />law. <br />Application of Raymond Davis, Gifford, Florida, for admission to the State Tub- <br />erculosis sanitorium was approved. <br />Mayor Alex MacWilliam appeared before the Board in behalf of the City of Vero <br />Beach and requested the Board of County Commissioners to adopt a Resolution requesting the <br />State Road Department to retain the portion of the present Vero Beach bridge from the <br />channel east to the peninsular for the purpose of using same as a fishing pier. On motion <br />of Commisskoner Stewart, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and carried, said request was <br />granted. <br />Douglas Baker, Clerk, was instructed to write a letter to Mr. C. H. Coulter, State <br />Forester requesting a representative contact this Board with regard to locations for the <br />location of proposed towers in connection with the fire control program. <br />The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were <br />examined and found correct, were approved and warrants issued in settlement of same. Such <br />bills and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court, the Warrants <br />so issued from the respective funds being listed in the Supplemental Minute Book, as provided <br />by the rules of the State !Auditor, reference to such record and the list so recorded being <br />made a part of these minutes. <br />
