On Friday June 19, 2015 the Division of State Lands replied. See Attachment 1 for the electronic mail <br /> exchange. The State's position was to either put the property back on the market or receive a <br /> qualified offer from the County consisting of the following: <br /> • Purchase price of$715,000 (appraised value) <br /> • "As is where is" <br /> • County pays all costs of closing, advertisement and brokerage fee to CBRE. <br /> Note:the County would still need to incur approximately$275,000(est.)in additional monies <br /> for an environmental assessment and demolition charges. <br /> The purpose of the agenda is to bring this item to the Board's attention. The price tag of$715,000 <br /> for the land plus the associated closing costs plus demolition charges is too high for staff to <br /> recommend to the SWDD Board. <br /> The State has since put the land back on the market with a minimum starting offer of$715,000 with <br /> a bid closing date of Thursday,July 2, 2015. <br /> FUNDING: <br /> There is no funding necessary with this informational update. <br /> ACCOUNT NO.: <br /> Description Account Number Amount <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff is requesting future direction from the Board if the State is not successful in the current open <br /> market solicitation. <br /> ATTACHMENT: Indian River Co.
