DeBraal, Deputy County Attorney <br /> DATE: July 8, 2015 <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Establishing the Short Term Vacation Rental Advisory Committee <br /> At its meeting of June 2, 2015, the Board of County Commissioners directed staff to draft a <br /> resolution that would establish a committee to advise the Board on certain issues concerning <br /> shod term vacation rental properties in Indian River County. The Board asked staff to <br /> include the following tasks in the founding resolution: <br /> • Determine whether additional regulations are needed in addition to the proposed <br /> ordinances for vacation rental parking and short term rental of residences for events, <br /> and <br /> • Submit recommendations on proposed regulations and <br /> • Coordinate efforts with staff to insure proper notice for committee meetings and <br /> compliance with Open Meetings and Sunshine Law requirements <br /> The Board further recommended membership to consist of seven members, permitting each <br /> Commissioner to appoint one member and selecting two members at large. Based on the <br /> Board's direction, a resolution establishing and governing the committee has been drafted <br /> and is proposed for the Board's approval. As structured, the Committee will automatically <br /> sunset after one year from the date of formation or completion of its tasks for the Board, <br /> whichever occurs first. <br /> Funding. There is no funding associated with this matter. <br /> Recommendation. Staff recommends the Board adopt the attached resolution establishing <br /> and governing the Short Term Vacation Rental Advisory Committee. <br /> Indian River Co.
