1/18/96(reso\cultfund)Vk <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-06 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO THE <br />FLORIDA LEGISLATURE IN SUPPORT OF APPROPRIATIONS FOR <br />CULTURAL ACTIVITIES. <br />WHEREAS, cultural programs are a vital part of the quality of life in <br />Indian diver County and ere vital to the education of our cititenst and <br />WHEREAS, cultural activities contribute immeasurably to the <br />County's economic development; and <br />WHEREAS, cultural programs historically have been supported by <br />local and state governments --both in this country and most foreign <br />countries; and <br />WHEREAS, in times of increased demands for limited public funds by <br />all public agencies, it is timely to reinforce local support for <br />continued funding for cultural activities; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board goes on record as <br />strongly supporting the continued support of cultural activities by the <br />Legislature of the State of Florida. In particular Indian River County <br />supports funding for the Division of Cultural Affairs Cultural <br />Facilities grants; Department of State Trust Funds; Division of <br />Historical Resources Special Category grants; and for supplemental <br />requests for libraries. <br />The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner T i g g i n , <br />and the motion was seconded by Commissioner MSC ht , and, upon <br />being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Fran B.
